Hill has been appointed here at Cranford UMC for six years beginning this conference year. He began the first Sunday in July.
He replaced Jim Canody, who served the church for a number of years. He graduated from Livingstone College with a degree in
Business Administration, 1978. He received his Master of Divinity from Howard University School of Religion, 1981. Pastor Hill and family
began their ministry with the United Methodist Church in June 1988. They served Asbury United Methodist Church in Virginia
Beach in the Norfolk District. For their second assignment, they were assigned to the Lynchburg District, Leesville Charge,
which began the Fowler Memorial Charge. They served there for three years. The third appointment was in the Roanoke District.
They served Asbury United Methodist Church, Christiansburg and the Ethnic Minority Program at Virginia Tech for four years.
The fourth appointment was to the Winchester District, John Wesley and John Mann United Methodist Churches. He served these
churches for nine years before coming to Cranford. Pastor
Hill served on various Conference and District
Committees: The Board of Church and Society; The School of Christian Mission and is now currently serving
on the Board of Ordained Ministry, and Equitable Compensation Commission.

Director of Music
| Gayle A.T. Lennon, the Director of Music at Cranford, is a native of Hillsdale, Michigan. She has a Bachelors degree
in Music Education and a Masters degree in Clarinet Performance/Woodwind Specialization from Michigan State University. While
at Michigan State University she studied with Elsa Verdehr, Fred Ormand, Thea King and Peter Reickhoff. During the three and
a half years that Gayle lived in Germany, she studied with Wolfgang Meyer and performed in recitals in Germany, France, Austria,
and Italy. She has played with the Mount Vernon Orchestra, Washington Symphony Orchestra, Prince George Philharmonic, Prince
William Symphony, La Gioia International Symphony, Jackson Symphony and the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. She was the Middle
School Band Director and head of the Private Lesson Program at the Potomac School in McLean, VA. She played in the Heidelberg
Trio and taught woodwinds for Northern Virginia Community College, Woodbridge campus and at her private studio in Springfield,
VA. She was the Choral Director at Irving Middle School from 2009 to 2011. |

Accompanist - Pious Honny Pious Honny was born in Ghana, where he studied at the University of Ghana -Legon. His
love for music brought him to the United States, where he studied piano pedagogy with Dr. Mary Tollefson for his Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. During
his time in the Midwest, he gained extensive experience working with concert bands,
churches and schools, as well as accompanying the University of Wisconsin concert choir under the direction of Dr. Gary Walth.
Pious has performed and presented workshops both in the United States and internationally, including places like
France, Germany, and Ghana. He composes and plays a variety of music including Classical, African Piano
music, Ragtime, Blues, Jazz and many others. Pious’s most glorious musical moment was when he played on Johann
Sebastian Bach’s organ in Germany. This is because only a few musicians in world have had this opportunity.
Secretary Tracy Wertz is married with one daughter and one son. She was born and raised in Lorton. She worked
for the Federal Government for 12 years. She started in the HECSA Library for the Department of the Army.
She then went to work in the accounting office for the Defense Accounting Office. Tracy then got a promotion to Secretary
of the Executive Office for the Defense Logistics Agency. She moved back to Defense Accounting Office as an Accountant,
reconsiling the general ledger. Tracy got an upward mobility promotion and became a Legal Assistant for the Defense
Fuel Supply Center. She then went to work for the Defense Logistics agency as a Legal Assistant. She put her career
on hold to become a stay at home mom.
Nursery Coordinator We are privileged to have
Sally Dravis on the staff as the nursery coordinator. Sally is in charge of the nursery volunteer's training and volunteer
coverage for the nursery each Sunday. She brings with her a vast understanding of childhood development and many years of
experience. Sally graduated with a Bachelors Degree in psychology from Roanoke College in Salem, VA. She has served as an
assistant director at a day care center and as a teacher for the School-Age Child Care (SACC) program for Fairfax County.
